Inverter & Soft-Starter
FAQ
What are the differences between the inverter and soft-starter ?
Generally, a soft-starter is only a fixed frequency SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) voltage-controlled device, wheres an Inverter converts AC to DC and then to variable voltage and variable frequency. Soft-starter is normally used to start fixed speed pumps etc, however, Inverters are used with variable speed drives.
